Have to be totally honest. The waiter was ultra nice and helpful. The food was way over priced and horrible tasting. Not to mention the portions were extremely small. We also waited over an hour for our meals. The only reason why we ate it was because there were limited choices to dine at and we were both coming off an 18 hour fast, thus we were starving. I could go on with the exact prices for what we got along with photo's but why bother beating a dead horse.

Not impressed with our first visit to Gramercy Tavern. Our drink order was incorrect and after examining my bill after leaving the restaurant, I was disappointed to see that 3 dessert dishes worth $60 had been errantly added to our bill. I expected better and am underwhelmed with what I had expected to be a better experience.

Very good meal but at the entrance to the restaurant is an unmarked single concrete step, a tripping hazard. Leaving the restaurant my mom fell hard onto the pavement and injured her ankle. The hostess had clearly experienced this before and was calm and ready with a chair and bag of ice. Very disturbing, particularly for a restaurant of this caliber. Please fix this asap - a painted strip, a sign, etc.

I recently dined at Gramercy Tavern and I was extremely disappointed. I booked my reservation through Open Table and the day before my reservation, I received a cancellation email and the reservation was canelled by Gramercy Tavern. I called the restaurant and was told that it was cancelled as I did not answer the reservation confirmation call. However, I did not received any calls from Gramercy Tavern. I was able to re-book the reservation for the same date/time. Service was great. The ambiance was great. I had high hopes for this place as I saw fantastic reviews online and it's a one Michelin starred restaurant. But I didn't enjoy the food at all. The only thing my fried and I enjoyed was the bread. We ordered lamb ravioli, beef tartare, pork loin, and lamb loin & shoulder. Beef tartare - bland. Only redeeming quality was that it was different from the traditional beef tartare with cubes of vegetables and mango? However, the beef lacked flavour. Lamb Ravioli - Lamb was way too salty and I couldn't taste anything other than the saltiness Pork loin - too dry. What a waste of the meat. Initially the server asked us if we want medium rare. Given this is a pork dish we went for medium but I wish the sever had warned us how dry the dish will be. I had amazing pork steaks in Spain and I was expecting something similar. Lamb - bland but the sauce was too overpowering. It was too dry or overcooked. Perhaps we should've ordered seafood instead. Both of us did not want to ruin our lunch so we did not complain but it was really unfortunate given we were expecting great experience from this restaurant.

If I could put a zero star I would, but this is not an option...and to know this establishment has a one star in the Michelin Guide makes me wonder can you buy your stars cause it certainly seems to be the case here. The saying "don't meet your hero's" certainly applies at the Tavern, we ended the night by having the finger flashed at us by one of their bar tendres... after having a dreadful experience not just food wise but the lack of passion of most of the team, the lack of attention into the details ( wobbly foldable table, very dirty bathrooms, sommelier who tries to push expensive wines, and the salt to cover up the bad produce which prevented us to actually eat it was that distasteful) a very big disappointment for such a New York staple. Never experienced such thing in my 11years here, not sure they thought we were tourists none the less go spend your money elsewhere please! Yes they waived the charge of the diner menu ( we did not eat a thing) we still had to pay for the wine and nothing really was done in a meaningful way to better the experience or try to understand what went wrong. I guess they are far beyond laying on their laurels and taking everything for granted, such a shame! not sure they even know who Danny Meyer is or if they ever heard of Setting the table... honestly go to the shack if you would like a descent meal for it's buck...

We ordered the mushroom lasagna from Gramercy Tavern for dinner last night and it was TERRIBLE! It was mostly crusty brown pasta edges (see pic - and note, that's taken directly from looking down at it). And what filling there was, was dry and flavorless, with just an aftertaste of dried (not fresh) shiitakes. This was not the quality one should be able to count on from them. We've had hit or miss experiences with them since COVID hit. I think we're done.

We had their three-course restaurant week menu; between the three of us, we were able to try all six offerings listed. While the service was prompt and attentive, it wasn’t enough to redeem how poor the food was. For $60, I expected to like at least one of the six dishes. The presentation and plating was good. I’m sure the food is great to some, but for myself, it was perhaps the blandest, most overhyped and overpriced food I’ve ever tasted. My cocktail had more seasoning than my dishes, and even then it still tasted like old shoe leather that someone had muddled a melon in. I’ve got to be honest: the 99 cent pizza slice I had earlier the same day was better than the entirety of this meal. If you like food with actual flavor profiles and substance, steer clear of this place.

The service was awful. I never leave reviews, but the service was so disappointing that I had to. We asked for the somm who never showed up. We finally put a drink order in with our server 45 minutes later. We ordered an expensive bottle of champagne that arrived after our food did… on top of that, our server had us pour the champagne ourselves. When the food arrived, they had forgotten a gluten allergy, so we had to send it back. Disappointing all around. I expect more from anywhere, but especially Gramercy Tavern.

Honestly- I don't understand what the fuss is about. We went and the seating is awkward as you can see people infront of you in the fine dining section. Starters where ok. Soup was bland. We ordered burger, the meet came dry ( not juicy) the sauce that came with it did not taste good. We also ordered the chicken, which arrived cold and hard to cut with you knife.everything lacked flavour. They accidentally double charged us so we returned the bill. Also we ordered orange juice and tasted watered down. Disappointed had very high expectations.doesnt deserve 4.7 starts

Gramercy Tavern - best burger in NYC is just the start. Everything on the menu is on point in terms of ingredients, cooking and flavours. The atmosphere is excellent, relaxed with a nice buzz. Beautiful interior. And amazing service. A special shout out to Erin who made me feel welcomed and appreciated three days in a row :) !!! Thank you

A favorite in New York. Great American food and beautiful outdoor seating (when the weather is nice). The bar inside is very beautiful and cozy. The restaurant inside has a fine dining ambience and offers a different experience. However, I ate from the casual/bar menu outdoor. The service is still great no matter where you eat. They start by serving you a complementary piece of focaccia at the beginning, which is actually pretty good. Most importantly, this place makes an incredible burger. Very simple, cheese, patty, onion, sesame buns. I liked the potato chips with the sauce that come with it. Good pickles as well. Patty is super juicy and steak-y, and the sharp cheese complements it very well. This is one of New York’s finest burgers. It does cost a lot for a burger, but it’s very enjoyable and I will always come back.

This was such a great lunch. For our first stop in NYC this time, my boyfriend and I dined here and got the prix fixe green market menu. Each item was made perfectly and the ingredients all tasted so fresh. My favorite dish was the hiramasa with jalapeños, it had such unique and refreshing flavors. We also loved the bread service, it had a carrot sauce that we couldn't get enough of. Our waitress was so nice and she put pretty flowers on my birthday dessert which was a coconut meringue cake, it was so pretty and tasted delicious. I would definitely come back here again, this was such a solid and tasty meal!

Came here to celebrate my fiance and I’s 4 year anniversary. The waiters were incredibly attentive and kind to us throughout the evening. We did the 5 course tasting menu and it absolutely fantastic. We tried all of the options on the tasting menu, but if you could only pick duck or steak, definitely go with the duck breast. The other two highlights on the menu for me were the halibut which came out super soft and juicy as well as the corn agnolotti which had such a refreshing filling.

This was a wonderful experience!! Wonderful food, presentation, service and atmosphere. We had been anticipating our meal here for months. We got the 3 course lunch meal and it was incredible! We also went back to get the burger from the tavern side and it was the BEST BURGER I HAVE EVSR HAD!!! Our anticipation was not misplaced! We will return if we ever make our way back tp NYC.

We had their lunch tasting menu in the dining hall. Fabulous experience and value for what you pay for. The service was phenomenal and the food super delicious. Remains one of my favourite go to restaurants in NYC.

If you're craving a great burger and a chill atmosphere, look no further than the tavern. Excellent service, great vibes, and one of the best burgers you can find in NYC. Duck meatloaf was also unique and satiated our meat craving. We indulged ourselves with the chocolate chunk cookie to top our meal off. Definitely can see why the tavern is so iconic.
